About the Position This contractor role will involve providing medium- to long-term funding through direct loans and guarantees as a complement to private sector investments to help solve critical world challenges and advance U.S. foreign policy. The officer will report to a Managing Director and work on complex, sensitive finance projects located in developing countries and markets.
The position is responsible for carrying out initial screenings of new loan proposals, underwriting, and due diligence tasks in the loan origination process, preparing loan documents, supporting negotiations, developing covenants, processing disbursements, and documenting loan files for transition to monitoring.
Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth analyses of new loan proposals to determine financial, technical, economic, legal, marketing, and political feasibility.
Perform financial analyses to assess debt service ability and loan repayment capacity.
Create and modify sponsor-provided financial projections, conduct sensitivity analyses, and test key economic drivers.
Summarize due diligence findings and present loan credit proposals to committees for approvals.
Manage day‑to‑day transaction advancement, project management, coordination with clients and partners, and workstreams to achieve financial close and disbursement.
Oversee ancillary workstreams related to transaction support, licensing, and routine tasks.
Respond to communications in a timely manner and perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in international business, international relations, finance, business, economics, political science, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in international finance, corporate finance, or project finance, and investments within the last 7 years.
U.S. Citizen or Foreign National with ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or higher-level clearance.
Experience analyzing and structuring complex international finance capital markets and sensitivities on financial models for debt finance in the project finance manner for projects developing markets.
Broad and comprehensive knowledge of international business.
Working with minimal supervision, on simultaneous projects, in a complex environment, and under deadlines.
Excellent English speaking, reading, and writing.
