Staff Scientist – University of Chicago We invite applications for the

Staff Scientist

position within the BSD NRB – Cohen Lab at the University of Chicago.

Pay Range:

$70,000.00–$90,000.00 per year.

BSD NRB – Cohen Lab

Job Summary:

This role facilitates and promotes a research project or contributes to the scientific direction of a research resource, receiving a moderate level of guidance and direction.

Responsibilities:

Serve as a resource for collecting data and performing analysis.

Contribute to facilitating and promoting a research project by providing scientific or intellectual information.

Review laboratory protocols and train on new techniques.

Manage complex data sets for research.

Lead contributions to scientific writing and publications, including protocols and grants.

Train new laboratory personnel.

Perform other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in a related field.

Knowledge and skills developed through 2–5 years of work experience in a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: PhD in a related field.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and excellent computer skills.

Preferred Competencies: Work independently and follow detailed research protocols; produce written reports of work and procedures.
