ABM is searching for an APS Senior Portfolio Director to support our Business & Industry group's West region.
The APS Portfolio Leader is a senior-level strategic and technical leader responsible for driving operational excellence, client satisfaction, and financial performance across a multi-state portfolio of APS accounts. APS (ABM Performance Solutions) integrates all ABM offerings into a single, self-delivered model, including engineering, energy, sustainability, custodial, and advanced building technologies. This role requires deep technical expertise in facility management, building systems, and energy optimization, ensuring seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and smart building solutions. The leader serves as a trusted advisor to clients, leveraging innovative technologies such as IoT, BAS, CMMS, and predictive analytics to enhance reliability, resiliency, and efficiency. With full P&L accountability, the APS Portfolio Leader champions continuous improvement, talent development, and strategic growth initiatives, positioning APS as the premier solution for complex facility environments.
Pay $185,000 - $225,000 (salary range; any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program.)

Key Responsibilities Service Delivery & Client Management
Ensure consistent delivery of APS services across a designated portfolio of accounts, maintaining high standards for hard and soft services.
Act as primary client advocate, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and ensuring expectations are exceeded.
Drive operational excellence through proactive issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
Leverage technology and best practices to enhance reliability, resiliency, and efficiency in service delivery.
Financial Management & P&L Control
Own full P&L responsibility for APS accounts, ensuring financial objectives are met.
Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying opportunities for margin improvement and cost optimization.
Support pricing strategies, ROI achievement, and accurate forecasting.
Review and approve cost‑control reports, staffing plans, and resource allocation.
People Leadership & Talent Management
Recruit, develop, and mentor account leaders and operational teams to build a high‑performing workforce.
Foster a culture of engagement, collaboration, and accountability across all levels.
Implement succession planning and support leadership development programs.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards through team training and oversight.
Operating Standards & Performance
Implement APS operating standards, processes, and technologies across the portfolio.
Establish and track KPIs, quality metrics, and productivity measures to ensure operational success.
Drive adherence to ABM core values and regulatory requirements.
Promote a strong safety culture through inspections, audits, and continuous monitoring.
Growth, Retention & Strategy Alignment
Partner with APS Platform and IG teams to align strategies for growth and retention.
Lead account transitions, due diligence, and integration of new business opportunities.
Support business development efforts including pricing, presentations, and client engagement.
Identify and implement innovative solutions to strengthen APS’s market position and client value proposition.
Relationships Reports to IG Leadership and partners with APS Platform Team, Client Experience & Operations Support Team, and other ABM functional groups. Serves as primary liaison for APS clients and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications & Attributes
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical discipline.
12+ years overseeing hard and soft services for complex facilities portfolios.
Deep technical knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, and mechanical.
Expertise in CMMS, BAS, BMS, IWMS, and emerging technologies (IoT, AI, Smart Buildings).
Proven ability to implement energy management and sustainability programs.
Strong financial acumen with P&L management experience.
Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship‑building skills.
Ability to travel and manage accounts across multiple states.
