36 Hours (Nights) w/ Every other weekend/holiday

About the Unit:

4 East is a 37‑bed surgical unit serving orthopedics, hip fracture, ENT, and OMFS populations. Cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse patient and staff populations are expected.

Position Summary:

As an RN in the Medical Surgical, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care through a patient‑centered care model in a supportive nursing organization.

Job Responsibilities

Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.

Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families.

Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.

Update and manage patient records and enter/interpret computerized data/information.

Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.

Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.

Job Requirements

Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Minimum 1 year of RN experience preferred.

Certification in basic life support (BLS); advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification required for certain units.

Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred) and ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.

Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certification required for certain practice areas.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.

Basic computer proficiency.

Fluency in another language is a plus.
