About our team As a Physician in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role, you will join our nationally renowned MFM Division, which includes 27 MFMs serving six states.
Key Responsibilities
Consultative Care
– Provide expert consultation for high‑risk pregnancies, managing complex maternal conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and autoimmune disorders.
Advanced Diagnostics
– Perform and interpret specialized imaging tests, including detailed fetal ultrasounds, fetal echocardiograms, and Doppler studies to assess fetal anatomy, growth, and blood flow.
Procedural Expertise
– Conduct invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures that may include amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), and fetal blood sampling.
Care Coordination
– Work within a multidisciplinary team involving general obstetricians, neonatologists, genetic counselors, registered dieticians, and nurses to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
Labor and Delivery Support
– Support labor and delivery teams with high‑risk assessments, and in some cases, manage the delivery of the baby when ongoing specialized care is required.
Education and Research
– Participate in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, and contribute to clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.
About this role
You will be one of two MFMs based primarily at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Montana, in addition to being supported on site by 6 traveling partners from Salt Lake City.
Consultative practice with outpatient care provided in satellite clinics (average travel: two days per month).
Participate in telehealth virtual consults.
Unrestricted call of 1:4–1:5, shared with our larger MFM team.
If desired, travel to Utah every 2–3 months for collaboration and education.
Optional inpatient care if desired.

$30,000

What you’ll bring
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Maternal‑Fetal Medicine
U.S. ACGME OB/GYN Residency and MFM Fellowship
Active, unobstructed Montana medical license, or the ability to obtain one
Full prescriptive authority and an active DEA, or the ability to obtain one
Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
Location Billings, Montana – Billings Downtown Clinic. Scheduled weekly hours: 40. Hourly range: $7.25 – $999.99 (actual rate dependent upon experience).
