Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Nursing Jobs – Bel Air, Maryland (21014). Start Date:
01/26/2026 End Date:
04/27/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift:
3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30) Employment Type:
Travel Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active RN license in Maryland or Compact State (required at time of submission) Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in cardiac stepdown, IMC, or similar healthcare setting BLS, CPR, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA only); ACLS preferred Proficiency with Epic EMR charting system Ability to float within hospital units as needed Two satisfactory professional references (one supervisor/manager and one charge RN) Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from facility First-time travel nurses welcome! Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with cardiac, respiratory, and complex medical needs in a 22-bed stepdown unit Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry; manage cardiac drips (no titration) Administer blood products; manage central lines, chest tubes, and feeding tubes Care for post-cardiac surgery, post-cath, and post-MI patients Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services Float to sister units and lower acuity areas as needed Participate in patient and family education and discharge planning Document care accurately using Epic EMR Benefits
