Job Description We’re seeking a highly talented, motivated, and creative individual to lead and support the existing capabilities of an agile software program in the Phantom Works organization.
Responsibilities
Architect Cloud Solutions: Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based architectures (Amazon Web Services or Azure) that align with business objectives and enhance operational capabilities; lead the migration from on-premises to cloud-based solutions.
DevOps Strategy Development: Lead development of a comprehensive DevOps strategy, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and monitoring solutions to streamline software delivery and improve deployment frequency.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including development, operations, and product management, to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
Optimization and Waste Reduction: Utilize industrial engineering principles to analyze existing systems and processes, identifying areas for optimization and waste reduction to improve overall efficiency; define, collect, analyze, and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) for software delivery and team execution.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement; lead the effort to develop best practices and methodologies for software development, deployment, and operations.
Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, present architectural designs, and provide updates on project progress.
Research and Development: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud computing and DevOps, applying this knowledge to enhance our solutions.
Basic Qualifications
15+ years total experience
5+ years in software architecture focused on cloud solutions and DevOps practices
10 years leading software teams or projects
10 years in automated provisioning and configuring of software‑defined infrastructure, designing for continuous deployment and continuous operations
Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Strong understanding of CI/CD tools (Gitlab, Jenkins) and practices, automation frameworks, and infrastructure as code
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in engineering or related disciplines
Excellent problem‑solving, critical and strategic thinking skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in industrial engineering or process optimization
Experience with AWS or Azure GovCloud
Security+ certification
Travel 10% travel
