Position summary Lead bipartisan advocacy for deep-tech clients across Congress, the Administration, and targeted state capitols. Develop strategies and drive engagement with Capitol Hill staff, Administration officials, and state legislators on AI, energy/climate, transportation, critical minerals, and related technology policy. Coordinate coalitions and fly‑ins; identify leverage points in bills, hearings, markups, and rulemakings; convert engagement into concrete client outcomes. Maintain a disciplined pipeline of bipartisan relationships and actions that advance client objectives at the federal and state levels.

Key responsibilities

Lead bipartisan advocacy & relationships:

Select, arrange, and lead meetings with Hill staff, Administration officials, and state legislators; cultivate and maintain productive, bipartisan relationships for client priorities.

Own legislative strategy & tracking:

Develop and execute federal and state engagement plans; identify opportunities for engagement based on relationships, hearings and markups, and political developments; flag opportunities/risks and recommend next steps.

Write briefing materials & client communications:

Draft talking points, one‑pagers, letters of support/opposition, opportunity memos, and testimony; prep founders/executives for meetings and hearings.

Facilitate stakeholder engagement:

Coordinate with trade associations, think tanks, and issue coalitions; organize Hill days/fly‑ins and stakeholder roundtables.

Drive state engagement:

Lead or support targeted state strategies, including legislator outreach, letters of support, and multistate bill tracking.

Provide consistent reporting:

Deliver concise and regular updates; translate policy movement into clear, action‑oriented client briefings.

Recent relevant experience:

At least 2 years of legislative experience on Capitol Hill (LA, LC, or committee staff) or at least 3 years in a state capitol with leadership office or committee or at least 2 years of federal GR experience in a policymaker‑facing role.

Independent executor:

Able to lead the execution of a policy engagement strategy, including identifying key policymakers and stakeholders, arranging and leading meetings, and following‑up to ensure actionable outcomes.

Effective across parties:

Trusted by Republican and Democratic offices; sound political judgment and message discipline.

Relationship builder:

Established working ties on Capitol Hill and within the Administration.

Policy translator:

Able to communicate complex tech policy clearly and persuasively into clear talking points, one‑pagers, and testimony.

Proactive:

Identify new opportunities to advance client priorities.

Detail oriented:

Stay on top of bills, hearings, and rulemakings; coordinate fly‑ins and testimony; willing to register as a lobbyist and adhere to all compliance rules.

Location:

Washington, D.C. area.

Compensation and Travel

$70,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

Work from home, but with frequent in‑person meetings on Capitol Hill expected and periodic travel to state capitols during session.
