The Opportunity In this role you will be at the forefront of complex transactions that enable innovation and transformation in the power industry. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to navigate legal challenges, mitigate risks, and ensure seamless integration of acquired businesses. Your expertise will help us strengthen our position as a leader in delivering reliable, efficient, and sustainable energy solutions worldwide.

How You’ll Make An Impact

Lead and manage legal aspects of M&A transactions.

Draft and negotiate key agreements and transaction documents.

Conduct and oversee comprehensive legal due diligence.

Advise internal teams throughout all phases of M&A deals.

Collaborate with external counsel and advisors for efficient execution.

Develop best practices for M&A legal processes and documentation.

Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting M&A and energy.

Support post‑closing integration activities.

Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.

Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.

Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing corporate law with a significant focus on M&A transactions.

Strong understanding of corporate and securities law, and other regulations relevant to M&A.

Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Experience in the energy transmission and distribution sector, the software industry, or a related industrial field is a plus.

Candidate must already have work authorization that permits them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
