Director of Continuing Medical and Interprofessional Education Develop, lead and execute CMIE programming, including administration of Postgraduate and Regional continuing medication education programs, with accountability for quality, productivity, and effectiveness. Responsible for strategic planning by designing, implementing, and evaluating the objectives of the CMIE program. Manage all administrative aspects of the program and provide team leadership, budget oversight, conference coordination, evaluations, and administration of department policies and procedures.

Lead reaccreditation process and ensure that Joint Accreditation standards, which includes ACCME, ANCC, ACPE as well as other related CE accreditors, AMA guidelines, and University of Vermont policies are constantly monitored and met. Represent the Medical School and the University at multiple levels with national, state, and local organizations regarding the development of broad-based CMIE policies and educational activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare related field.

Two to four years of high level administrative or management experience with supervisory responsibilities.

In-depth knowledge of national policies and regulations affecting continuing education requirements and trends.

Effective organizational, interpersonal, communicational, and supervisory skills.

Knowledge of medical specialties and their broad areas of interest.

Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to travel to conference locations.

Desirable Qualifications

Knowledge of Joint Accreditation (ACCME, ANCC, ACPE) requirements.

Proficiency with MS Office Word and Excel. Access desirable.

Conference coordination/event planning experience and skills.

Negotiation skills.

Marketing knowledge and experience.

Experience in developing educational objectives and designing outcomes measurement tools.

Expectations and Conditions Anticipated Pay Range: $68,000 – $80,000.

Non-standard work hours required, provisional probationary period, occasional evenings and/or weekends. Travel to and from worksites. Hybrid schedule option available. Background check required.

Location Colchester, Vermont, United States.
