Description
We are seeking a Hardware Security Engineer to join our client’s team focused on device security and hardware validation. This role is essential in ensuring our products meet the highest security standards through comprehensive requirement verification, security assessment and implementation oversight. You will work at the intersection of hardware design, security engineering and manufacturing processes to deliver secure reliable products to millions of customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities This Hardware Security Engineering role focuses on verifying and validating security across the entire hardware lifecycle for the client’s devices. The role will ensure that the manufactured hardware meets design specifications and security implementation requirements through systematic evaluation of components and assemblies. You will review schematics and hardware samples to verify compliance with circuit designs, interface with manufacturers and suppliers directly, review security compliance evidence, identify hardware backdoors and attempts to circumvent hardware-based security features, and partner with multiple stakeholders to accomplish these tasks.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field
5 years of experience in hardware security, embedded systems security or similar
Experience designing, testing and analyzing circuit designs and PCB layouts
Knowledge of threat modeling, secure boot implementations and cryptography (RSA, AES, HMAC, PQC)
Experience with manufacturing security processes including secret provisioning and secure production flows
Hands‑on experience testing, debugging or hacking hardware using common electronics test equipment
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in relevant technical field or equivalent advanced experience
Knowledge of side‑channel attack analysis and associated countermeasures
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures, especially automated quality inspection techniques
Experience writing technical documents, project plans and progress reports to leadership and stakeholders
Knowledge of debug interface security (JTAG, BDM, anti‑rollback mechanisms) and fault injection protection
Experience programming in at least one modern language such as C, C++, or Rust
