Summary Diagnose and treat cancer in adults using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, biological therapy, and targeted therapy. Medical oncologist works in collaboration with the supportive care team and may coordinate treatment given by other specialists. Hematology includes diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders.

Breast Medical Oncologist
to join our compassionate, patient-centered team in Rio Rancho. This is a unique opportunity to focus exclusively on breast oncology while enjoying a balanced schedule, strong team support, and the unmatched lifestyle of New Mexico.
Practice Highlights
Focused Practice: Care exclusively for breast oncology patients in a supportive, multidisciplinary setting.
Team-Based Support: Work alongside nurse navigators, social workers, dieticians, and chemo-certified infusion nurses.
Work/Life Balance: Enjoy a 4-day work week and participate in the Breast Tumor Board every Wednesday morning.
Manageable Call: Inpatient call just 7 weeks per year.
Research Opportunities: Engage in clinical trials and research initiatives as a member of the New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance.
Accredited Excellence: Our program is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC).
Streamlined Systems: Systemwide Epic EMR for seamless care coordination.
Responsibilities
Order and oversee diagnostic testing in alignment with NCCN guidelines.
Prescribe treatment and supportive medications.
Collaborate with the care team to include palliative care, psychology, social work, PT, OT, speech, dietician, nursing, research to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Oversee care provided by Advanced Practice Clinicians as required by provider licensure.
Participate in process improvement which drives standard of care across the continuum.
Participation in tumor board(s) is required.
Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. with fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology.
BC/BE Medical Oncology and Hematology.
New Mexico Medical License.
Demonstration of CARES behaviors and the practice of collaborative care.
3-5 years minimum experience preferred.
