Department is comprised of:
20+ neurologists
14 neuroscientists
3 Nurse Practitioners
Responsibilities:
~90% Clinical
~10% Teaching/Education/Administration
More flexible options available for those with preferences for more teaching or research
Call Schedule – depends on the subspecialty. Residents take 1st call. No Stroke, ICU call. No overnight unless emergency. Backup available with all subspecialties
Practice Schedule: M-F 40 hours/week
Inpatient Only: ~10-12 Patients/day
Outpatient Only: ~14-16 Patients/day
2-3 Exam Rooms
Strong nursing Support
Teaching Responsibilities:
Present 1-2x/year in Grand Rounds
Faculty can dictate how many learners are present in the clinic
Option to oversee resident clinic and review encounters to build productivity toward incentive pay

Research Opportunities In addition to clinical opportunities, the MU Center for Translational Neuroscience and the Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory offer a vast array of academic and research opportunities. There are established basic and translational research programs with 30+ clinical trials in Neurology.

MD/DO
Board-certified or board-eligible in neurology
Successful completion of an accredited fellowship in the respective areas of expertise
BC/BE candidates from ACGME accredited residencies and fellowships are considered experienced
About Us MU Health Care is the first and only institution in mid-Missouri to earn the Comprehensive Stroke Center certification from DNV GL Healthcare and is a certified Level I Comprehensive Stroke Center. With the region's only dedicated stroke neurologist and fellowship-trained neuro-interventionalists, MU Health Care's stroke team provides better treatment and safer procedures to our patients from immediate stroke care to rehabilitation.
