About the Pediatric Emergency Department Our family‑centered 14‑bed Pediatric Emergency Department is one of the largest dedicated Pediatric Emergency Departments in Boston. As a Magnet recognized organization, our PALS and TNCC certified pediatric trauma nursing team provides comprehensive and complex care to children of all ages, serving diverse cultures in an inclusive, conscientious, and open workplace.
Position Summary As an RN in the Pediatric Emergency Department, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient‑centered care model, you will be supported by a strong nursing organization and able to provide the excellent care patients deserve.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver nursing care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
Communicate with various health‑care team members, patients, and their families.
Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
Update and manage patient records.
Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
Assist the leadership team as needed in quality‑improvement projects.
Job Requirements
Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or ability to obtain MA RN licensure.
1+ years of Pediatric RN experience required.
TNCC required or ability to obtain it by start date.
Certification in basic life support (BLS).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required in certain units.
Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certification required for certain practice areas.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
Basic computer proficiency.
Fluency in another language is a plus.

Compensation Range $38.05–$75.33 per hour.
