The (Sr) Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role is part of US Medical Affairs at Biogen. The MSL engages with Key Medical Experts (KMEs) and other healthcare professionals (HCPs) to communicate the clinical and scientific narrative for Biogen’s therapies. What You Will Do
Engage with KME and HCP to increase confidence in making clinical decisions for disease state and Biogen’s products.
Build deep, strategic, long‑term relationships with internal and external stakeholders to be viewed as a partner rather than transactional.
Be a “partner in the trenches” – responsive, solutions‑driven conduit to leaders in the medical community.
Participate in projects/initiatives aligned to US Medical strategy, objectives, and tactics.
Deliver against KME engagement plans and capture/report KME/HCP insights using Veeva with high consistency and accuracy.

Required Skills
Advanced Scientific or Clinical degree; doctoral level required (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP).
Must live within the territory: IL, IN, MN, WI, MI, IA, MO, and AR.
2–5 years experience as an MSL or similar role in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry (5+ years for Sr MSL).
Effective communication: concise, confident, credible; listens with empathy and adapts communication to audience.
Digital potential: comfortable using new tools and systems; willing to learn.
Accountability: reliable goal achievement; motivated to meet and exceed metrics and KPIs.
Ethical: committed to industry rules for patient benefit.
Able to travel at least 60% of the time, including overnight and occasional weekends.
Must be 18 years of age or older with valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; authorized to drive a company vehicle or rental.
Preferred Skills & Therapeutic Area Specific Skills
Clinical experience and subject matter expertise in nephrology, with particular focus on IgA Nephropathy (IgAN) and Antibody‑Mediated Rejection (AMR).
Additional Information Base compensation range: $162,000.00–$217,000.00. Regular employees eligible for short‑term and long‑term incentives, including cash bonus and equity opportunities.
