Vice President of Supply Chain
The Vice President of Supply Chain will own the end‑to‑end supply‑chain strategy for the company — spanning sourcing, supplier management, manufacturing, logistics, planning, and operational excellence. This leader will balance cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability while driving continuous improvement, data visibility, and risk mitigation across our global network. You will build and lead a high‑performing supply chain organization and partner cross‑functionally to support the company’s growth and customer commitments.
Base Pay Range $250,000.00/yr - $275,000.00/yr
Location:
Carlsbad [this role will require at least 25% travel, both domestically and internationally]
Key Responsibilities Strategic Oversight
Develop and execute company’s global supply chain strategy aligned with company goals (cost, quality, delivery, sustainability).
Design and optimize the end‑to‑end supply chain network — suppliers, factories, 3PLs, and distribution hubs.
Lead comprehensive risk management initiatives including supplier diversification, geopolitical risk assessments, and business continuity planning.
Drive continual improvement through KPIs such as OTIF (On‑Time‑In‑Full), inventory turns, lead times, and logistics cost per unit.
Oversee all global sourcing, supplier qualification, negotiation, and contract management.
Develop strategic supplier partnerships that ensure supply continuity and long‑term value.
Ensure ethical sourcing and full compliance with trade, labor, and environmental regulations.
Lead cost‑reduction and value‑engineering initiatives while maintaining required service and quality standards.
Operations & Logistics
Oversee global manufacturing planning, scheduling, and production coordination with company factory teams and partners.
Manage inbound/outbound logistics, warehousing strategies, and freight optimization.
Ensure customs compliance, import/export accuracy, and efficient cross‑border operations.
Maintain strong data integrity and visibility across all supply chain systems (ERP, MES, WMS, etc.).
Demand, Inventory & Planning
Lead demand forecasting and the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
Balance supply and demand to optimize working capital and service levels.
Implement and enhance planning systems, data analytics, and decision‑support tools to improve accuracy and agility.
Build, mentor, and lead a global supply chain team including regional operations leaders, planners, buyers, and logistics specialists.
Collaborate closely with Product, Sales, Engineering, Finance, and Operations on go‑to‑market, cost strategies, and customer delivery excellence.
Provide clear reporting to the CEO/COO with metrics on cost, service performance, risk management, and operational improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
15+ years of global supply chain leadership experience within electronics manufacturing, contract manufacturing, and high‑volume production environments.
Proven track record of developing and executing global supply chain strategies.
Deep expertise in procurement, logistics, forecasting, and supply planning.
Strong understanding of international trade, customs regulations, and compliance.
Hands‑on experience working with suppliers across multiple countries, including vendor development, performance management, and negotiation.
High cultural awareness with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across diverse regions.
Experienced people leader with success managing teams across multiple countries and cultures.
Skilled negotiator with a data‑driven, continuous‑improvement mindset.
Proficient in ERP/MRP systems, supply chain analytics, and KPI management.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
