THE ROLE This hybrid role is located in Denver, CO and is open to remote candidates. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Senior Director, Architecture
who demonstrates technical leadership and strong communication and presentation skills to join our client's dynamic technology team. The position requires not only rock‑solid programming skills but also the capacity to lead technical design reviews and quality culture. The right candidate will teach, coach, and mentor junior engineers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Develop innovative architectural solutions across diverse problem sets and domains.
Create and share architectural designs, best practices, and technology roadmaps with cross‑functional teams.
Translate business and product requirements into technical specifications, models, and software architectures.
Focus on non‑functional requirements including deployment needs, scalability, performance, and reliability.
Develop proof‑of‑concept solutions to demonstrate and communicate technical designs.
Architect migration of on‑prem systems to SaaS‑based multi‑tenant solutions on Azure Cloud.
Drive adoption of new technology across the organization through POCs, design diagrams, documentation, business impact analysis, and ROI.
Optimize cloud‑based systems for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
Mentor the team toward a unified platform architecture.
ROLE PROGRESSION Within 1 month
Learn the functional areas of the products and intended uses.
Establish relationships with key leadership and architecture team members.
Participate in assigned work activities and meetings.
Acclimate to the environment and identify technology and innovation opportunities.
Contribute to at least one key strategic initiative and expand to multiple initiatives over time.
Review key architecture team artifacts and ways of working.
Within 3 months
Contribute reference architecture and POC improvements regularly.
Develop subject‑matter expertise in multiple product areas.
Translate product vision into technical requirements, designs, and plans.
Provide active technical leadership and share architectural insights.
Within 6 months
Collaborate with other development teams to build robust architectures and product integrations.
Define new opportunities for product and technology improvement proactively.
Serve as the go‑to technical resource for key initiatives and lead with influence.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
12+ years of software development experience with excellent .NET/C#, React and Bootstrap coding skills.
3+ years as a software architect.
BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
Experience with .NET framework and object‑oriented development in Microsoft Visual Studio.
Microsoft Azure and/or AWS cloud experience (Azure preferred).
Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture and microservices.
Experience building highly scalable and resilient cloud services.
Expertise with ASP.NET Core, MVC/MVVM, SQL Server/MySQL.
Experience developing reference architectures and POC prototypes.
Preferred certifications in architecture (Microsoft or other industry).
Clearance of a standard background check prior to employment with candidate consent.
