Description UIKit powers nearly every interface you see on iPhone and iPad — from touch and event handling to animation, text, layout, and high‑level components like UICollectionView, UIHostingConfiguration, and UIGestureRecognizer. As part of the UIKit team, you’ll collaborate closely with Human Interface designers and partner frameworks to prototype, refine, and deliver the next generation of UI technologies. You’ll work side by side with internal teams to create APIs that inspire developers and power incredible experiences. Responsibilities
Own and evolve key areas of UIKit in collaboration with UIKit leadership
Implement new features, improvements, and regressions with an eye for maintainability and performance
Design, document, and test clean and extensible APIs and SPIs
Participate actively in code and design reviews
Work closely with HI on evaluating and implementing new interface concepts
Diagnose and resolve issues across the UI frameworks stack
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of hands‑on UIKit development experience on iOS
Strong proficiency in Swift
Familiarity with Objective‑C
Experience with Core Animation, layout, and event handling
Solid understanding of debugging, profiling, and performance optimization
Familiarity with Xcode, LLDB, Git, and related development tools
Clear communication and collaborative problem‑solving skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SwiftUI
Background in framework‑level rather than application‑level development
Knowledge of UIKit on other platforms (e.g. visionOS, Catalyst, CarPlay)
Understanding of UIKit’s animation and text APIs
Experience working with UIKit’s collection view and menu APIs
Familiarity with system‑level tracing and performance analysis tools
This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $212,000 and $386,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
