Job Title: Receptionist

Location: Odenton, MD

Schedule: Full-time — 5 days onsite

Pay Rate: $20–$22 per hour

Temporary: 3-6 months with potential to extend

About the Role

LHH is partnering with an organization in Odenton, MD seeking a proactive, professional, and customer-focused Receptionist to serve as the first point for the organization. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly, and consistently delivers exceptional service. You will be essential in creating a welcoming atmosphere, supporting daily operations, and ensuring front-desk activities run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist all visitors, clients, and staff with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls; take detailed messages when needed.
  • Manage front-desk operations including signing in visitors, distributing badges, and maintaining security protocols.
  • Monitor and respond to general inquiries via email or phone.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail and packages.
  • Maintain front office appearance, ensuring the reception area is clean, organized, and presentable.
  • Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, scheduling, and document preparation.
  • Coordinate meeting room reservations and assist with preparation (materials, setup, etc.).
  • Work closely with internal teams to support office operations and special projects.
  • Uphold company values and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in a receptionist, administrative assistant, or front desk role (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills—professional, clear, and confident.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and general office equipment.
  • Strong customer service mindset and the ability to remain calm and helpful under pressure.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality.
