Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer (Fuel Systems)
Location: Pontiac, IL (onsite)
Duration: 12 months (possible extension)
Shift: 3rd Shift
Pay range: $50/hr. to $54/hr. on W2 (all inclusive)
Position Summary
This role supports Fuel Systems division, focusing on the assembly of fuel injectors. The team is responsible for ensuring production efficiency, cost optimization, quality assurance, and compliance with safety standards.
Position’s Contribution to Work Group:
- Provide technical expertise for production processes, cost control, quality improvement, and safety compliance in fuel injector assembly.

Typical Day or Week in the Role
Task Breakdown:
- Troubleshoot assembly equipment as needed.
- Assist in process improvements for current assembly processes.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to first test pass failures.
- Create and update APQP elements (Process Flow, Control Plan, PFMEA).
Interaction Level:
- Cross-functional collaboration with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations teams.
Team Structure:
- Work alongside 13 Manufacturing and Test Engineers, reporting to the Technical Service Manager.
Work Environment:
- Office located within a factory setting.
Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience (internship experience accepted).
- Comparable roles: Manufacturing Engineer, Assembly Engineer.
Technical Skills (Required):
- Expertise in APQP elements (Process Flow, Control Plan, PFMEA).
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
Technical Skills (Desired):
- Assembly and test experience.
Soft Skills (Required):
- Ability to facilitate and host cross-functional meetings (in-person and virtual).
- Strong project and priority management skills.
Performance Indicators:
- Successful facilitation of APQP processes.
- Effective troubleshooting and process improvement.
- Strong collaboration across teams.
