We are seeking an experienced Commercial Door Frame and Hardware Project Manager to oversee the complete lifecycle of commercial DFH projects. The ideal candidate will coordinate all aspects of project delivery—from initial takeoff and estimating (if needed) through procurement, scheduling, and final installation—ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Coordination
- Review architectural drawings, door schedules, and specifications to develop accurate project scopes and hardware sets
- Perform detailed takeoffs (if needed) and create comprehensive submittals for hollow metal frames, wood and hollow metal doors, and finish hardware
- Coordinate with architects, general contractors, and subcontractors to clarify specifications and resolve design conflicts
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with overall construction timelines
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Source and procure doors, frames, hardware, and access control components from approved manufacturers
- Negotiate pricing and lead times with vendors to meet project budgets and deadlines
- Track orders, manage deliveries, and coordinate staging and installation logistics
Technical Expertise & Compliance
- Ensure all products and installations comply with building codes, fire ratings, ADA requirements, and security specifications
- Provide technical guidance on hardware functions, keying systems, electrified hardware, and access control integration
- Conduct site visits to verify field conditions, inspect installations, and resolve punch list items
Client Relations & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare and present submittals, change orders, and project updates to stakeholders
- Address RFIs (Requests for Information) promptly and accurately
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, architects, and building owners and vendors
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in commercial construction
- Some working knowledge of hollow metal frames, wood doors, and commercial-grade hardware (closers, exit devices, hinges, locks, etc.)
- Proficiency reading and interpreting architectural drawings, door schedules, and hardware specifications
- Familiarity with industry codes and standard
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client and vendor interaction
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
