Job Description

The Human Resources Director must be well-versed in California, New York, and Florida labor laws, employee practices liability risk management, healthcare compliance, healthcare accreditation requirements, customer service excellence and leadership development. This role requires a versatile HR generalist capable of supporting a high-performing team at both the main office and temporary locations, ensuring alignment with the practice’s core values.


Key Responsibilities:

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee full-cycle HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, promotions, and offboarding.
  • Ensure compliance with California, New York, and Florida labor laws for all employees, including those traveling for pop-up events.
  • Manage employee relations, investigations, and resolution of disputes while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Administer employee benefits, leaves of absence, and payroll practices.
  • Track and maintain healthcare accreditation standards and qualifications for clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Partner with leadership to mitigate Employee Practices Liability risks.

Talent Management & Development

  • Develop and maintain job descriptions, competencies, performance evaluation frameworks, and career development pathways.
  • Advise on workforce planning and succession strategies to support practice growth.
  • Coach managers on performance issues, employee engagement, and HR best practices.
  • Promote customer service excellence through employee training and support, ensuring staff consistently provide high-quality patient experiences

Multi-State & Travel HR Management

  • Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with labor laws across California, New York, and Florida for employees who travel.
  • Provide guidance to traveling teams regarding wage, hour, and benefit compliance.
  • Serve as the HR point of contact for all pop-up events, ensuring smooth onboarding, compliance, and support for temporary locations.

Culture & Organizational Support

  • Promote a positive, high-performance culture
  • Adapt HR processes to meet the needs of a fast-paced, innovative aesthetic healthcare environment.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on HR strategy, organizational change, and team dynamics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s or HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership HR role.
  • Prior experience in healthcare, medical aesthetics, or high-paced clinical environments strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of California, New York, and Florida labor laws, employee rights, and healthcare compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations, performance management, and HR risk mitigation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
  • Strong ethical standards, discretion, and ability to manage sensitive information.
