Base pay range $70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Position Summary The Safety Manager leads ACE’s safety program on large-scale water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for an experienced safety professional who can develop and implement safety policies, mentor field staff, and ensure projects are executed safely, in compliance with regulations, and aligned with ACE’s high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific and company-wide safety programs.

Conduct regular on-site safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, ACE policies, and client requirements.

Maintain safety documentation, including audits, incident reports, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and daily/weekly checklists.

Lead safety training sessions for field staff and project teams.

Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.

Partner with field leadership to proactively identify risks and maintain a safety-first culture.

Mentor and guide project teams on safety best practices and compliance.

Support management in achieving safety performance goals and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Minimum five (5) years of construction safety experience, preferably in heavy civil, industrial, or environmental projects.

OSHA 30-hour certification required; OSHA 500, CHST, or CSP certification is preferred.

Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EM 385-1-1 standards, and industry best practices.

Skilled in safety reporting, documentation, and compliance management.

Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Working Environment

Full-time, on active construction sites with exposure to varying weather conditions.

Routine use of standard construction tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and inspection equipment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs/ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands/arms to conduct inspections and handle equipment.
