Tax Director, Private Wealth (High Net Worth Tax Practice)

Salary Range:
$191,260 – $362,600 (actual compensation varies with experience, qualifications and geographic location).
Responsibilities
Provide compliance and consulting services to high‑net‑worth individuals, multi‑generational affluent families, family offices and private businesses or investment entities.
Conduct technical reviews of complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S‑corps, trusts, estates, gifts, and state taxes.
Lead multiple engagements delivering proactive tax planning and strategic consulting, including federal estate, gift, charitable, and generation‑skipping tax planning.
Advise on business succession planning and apply industry trends and technical authorities to complex situations.
Manage client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
Build, nurture, and expand relationships within and outside the firm, leveraging entrepreneurial skills.
Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in firm‑wide learning programs.
Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care & Teach philosophy.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
CPA, EA, JD/LLM required.
Eight (8) or more years of experience in tax return review and planning for wealthy individuals, family members, trusts, investment entities, and private businesses, including personal, trust, estate & gift, charitable, flow‑through, partnership and corporate taxation.
Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience, mentoring, and counseling associates.
Ability to lead and supervise, provide exceptional client service, and demonstrate a strong ethical commitment and sense of urgency for quality and timely completion of projects.
Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is highly preferred.
