Gastroenterology – Chief of Gastroenterology
Atlanticare Regional Medical, southeastern New Jersey’s largest health system and a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient, is seeking a visionary and innovative Chief of Gastroenterology to lead the development of a high‑impact academic division that blends excellence in clinical care, research, and education in alignment with its Vision 2030 transformation strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and lead a cutting‑edge GI program aligned with AtlantiCare’s Vision 2030 goals
Create a dynamic, academic GI division emphasizing research, education, and advanced clinical care
Develop and expand advanced GI services including complex endoscopic procedures, inpatient and outpatient GI care
Recruit, train, and inspire a multidisciplinary team including GI hospitalists, faculty, fellows, and support staff
Serve as a hands‑on clinical leader, providing expert consultation and management of complex GI cases
Drive collaboration across specialties, especially in cancer care, leveraging strategic partnerships with Drexel University and The Cleveland Clinic
Ensure consistent endoscopic block time and manage robust referral volumes from day one
Foster workforce development through mentoring, training, and culture‑building initiatives
Enhance access and reduce disparities by engaging with underserved communities
Required certifications at start include BLS, ACLS, DEA, and CSR/CDS
Open to candidates who have history of malpractice or licensing issues, with limitations considered
This is a high‑impact leadership position where the successful candidate will shape GI care delivery and education for Atlantic, Ocean, and Cape May Counties in New Jersey
Not open to Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
Not open to 1099 contract or locums candidates
Not open to candidates requiring visa sponsorship
Open to experienced gastroenterologists only (no new graduates)
Experience starting up a program, or leadership experience as chief or medical director (preferred)
