Come grow with us! Our special education day program is seeking a licensed professional counselor or counseling social worker excited to work with students in grades K- 12. The ideal candidate is interested in being part of an energetic team dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our students! Full-time and part-time considered.
*Main Duties* * Facilitate learning and promote the cognitive, social, and personal development of all students. * Support students social, emotional, and behavioral health, and deliver a planned and coordinated program of counseling services. * Promote wellness and resilience by reinforcing communication and social skills, problem solving, anger management, self-regulation, self-determination, and optimism. * Promote school policies and practices that ensure the safety of all students by reducing school violence, bullying, and harassment. * Assess the learning, development, and adjustment characteristics and needs of students, as well as the environmental factors that affect learning and adjustment. * Use assessment data to develop appropriate interventions and programming. * Implement school-wide prevention programs aimed towards maintaining a positive school climate conducive to learning. * Demonstrate effective communication with students, parents, and school staff, and understand and encourage acceptance of diverse learners, cultures and backgrounds.
