Locums - OB Hospitalist Sevierville, TennesseeAssignment Details
  • Program Start Date: Expected July 2026
  • Call Schedule: 1 in 4 call with locums support
  • Backup Coverage:
  • OB physicians back each other up
  • If unavailable, General Surgeon or Midwife provides backup
  • Setting: Hospital and clinic (Level 1 facility, no NICU)
  • Clinic Schedule: Monday-Friday
  • After-Hours Call Process: Calls routed through hospital unit Facility Information
    • Hospital Type: Level I facility (no NICU; transfers higher-risk moms)
    • Annual Births: 600
    • Annual GYN Surgery Volume: Not specified
    • Residency Programs: None
    • EMR (Hospital): EPIC
    • Anesthesia Coverage: CRNA 24/7 in-house with supervising MD
    • General Surgeon Availability: 24/7
    • Urologist Availability: Yes
    • MFM Support: Provided by Perinatal Center; higher-risk patients transferred out
    Clinical & Staffing Model
    • Current Team:
    • 2 OB physicians (1 potential additional provider starting 2026)
    • 1 Certified Nurse Midwife (newer role)
    • 2 Nurse Practitioners in clinic
  • C-Section Assistance: Another provider or surgeon assists
  • Outpatient/Clinic Responsibilities:
  • Routine OB visits
  • GYN problem visits
  • Answer triage calls
  • GYN Responsibilities:
  • GYN problem visits in office
  • Support ED physicians as needed Requirements
    • Board Certification: OB/GYN - Board Certified or Board Eligible (per facility preference)
    • State License: Tennessee - Required (or ability to obtain)
    • Certifications: BLS, DEA, NRP/PALS - Required during credentialing
    Additional Notes
    • Backup Providers: OB colleagues, general surgeons, or midwives as needed
    • MFM Support: Next level of care available at Perinatal Center
