Position Description Under the direct supervision of the CGI Management personnel, the Bilingual (English/Arabic) Support Associate assists the Customer Service department in completing various duties, including translation and Arabic speaking requirements as needed. The employee performs clerical and repetitive manual functions to support the customer service and adjudication departments, processes and mails passports and related documents using the TDIS-PD and PRISM system for document batches, imaging, data entry, book printing, mailing labels, and postage. Quality checks of fee information are also performed. U.S. citizenship is required due to government contract and clearance requirements.
This position is located in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
Assist with Arabic speaking needs and translation of correspondence and documents.
Receive undeliverable passports, request issued applications from QC, research mailing problems, and assist with applicant inquiries.
Assist the Government Customer Service Manager with inquiries from Congress, Headquarters, White House, and other agencies.
Maintain applications with potentially fraudulent birth documents, provide research and preliminary recommendations, and manage PFBD databases.
Train lower‑level Support Associates and improve training procedures.
Operate high‑speed scanning, mailing, and metering equipment.
Generate mailing labels and ensure correct envelope assembly.
Box and archive files for storage, as well as receive and assemble third‑party mail.
Follow a pre‑set pattern for document sequencing and perform searching and filing functions.
Operate scanning equipment and biological hood HEPPA filter to open mail.
Interface with passport applicants at Agency/Center counters, review applications, photographs, identification, and supporting documents for completeness before adjudication.
Required Qualifications Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of experience as a Support Associate Level II or III.
4 years of experience in a high‑volume production environment.
6 years of general office experience.
4 years of experience using MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Must pass a pre‑employment Arabic language assessment at an Advanced level.
Other Qualifications
Good hand‑eye coordination.
Ability to remain flexible and adapt under pressure, following instructions and procedures.
Proficiency at repetitive tasks requiring high accuracy.
Multitasking with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work stationary and move within the office.
Basic customer service skills.
Ability to lift up to 30 lb.
Polite, effective public interface skills.
Good data entry, filing, and file‑retrieval skills.
Background check and government security investigation required.
U.S. citizenship and MRPT clearance required.
Knowledge of U.S. passport application procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications Knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to eligibility for and issuance of a U.S. Passport.
Compensation Hourly Rate: $25.92/hour. CGI provides a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role based on skill level, experience, and certifications.
