Location Tripler Medical Center, Honolulu, HI.
Overview The Advanced Practice Nurse (Practitioner/Family Practice) position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center in the Directorate of Medicine, Department of Medicine Gastroenterology Service in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Responsibilities
Prescribe pharmacologic agents and treatments.
Provide consultation and referral to patients, as needed.
Prepare a complete, accurate evaluation document on each patient seen in the clinical setting.
Provide nursing and medical services to individuals, families, and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.
Develop database for individuals/families utilizing health care developmental history, physical examination, laboratory data, other diagnostic testing as indicated and pertinent psychosocial information.
Analyze and interpret routine laboratory results.
Provide administrative assistance for clinic activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Who may apply:
US Citizens.
Experience includes paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work. Resume must clearly describe relevant experience; transcripts required.
Basic Requirements:
Graduate or higher level degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program in Nurse Practitioner or Family Practice. Transcripts required.
Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory; passed NCLEX.
Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner or related specialty.
Foreign graduate: official certification from CGFNS is required.
Exempt from basic requirements if current federal employee in 0610 occupational series continuously employed since September 27, 2017.
Active registration as a professional nurse in a state, district, or territory.
Additional Qualification Requirements:
One or more full years of professional nursing experience including ordering appropriate medications, staff education, and initiating a therapeutic plan in accordance with medical practice.
Education If using foreign education, credentials must be evaluated by an accredited private organization or receive full credit for U.S. accredited coursework.
