The Amazon Private Brands Global Sourcing team is looking for customer-obsessed driven individuals to lead vendor management for new product sourcing, and drive on-going business accelerated growth for our Private Label business. The role will manage the global sourcing process from A to Z including vendor maintenance and P&L management, cost negotiation, product planning, pricing, and vendor relations. It will interact with almost every aspect of Amazon worldwide, including retail, product team, program team, quality team etc.

The candidate must have strong business acumen and strategic agility, and enjoy identifying defects and opportunities to design / implement long-term solution. He or she must be capable in driving business impact and deliver results under ambiguity or coping the challenges. A successful candidate will thrive in a highly collaborative, analytical, creative, and fast-paced environment. And the candidate is willing to roll up their sleeves and get things done. The ideal candidate is also expected to experience working in a global team dealing with multi-stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

  • Establish supplier sourcing strategy and tactics to explore and onboard high quality suppliers globally.
  • Develop industrial landscape for different categories (i.e. Furniture, Lawn and Garden, Toys) to provide insights of where to source and what to source for Amazon Private Brands
  • Partner with Product Managers, Product Sourcing Manager, Quality, Supply Chain teams to develop global supplier landscape and sourcing strategy.
  • Identify process improvement areas and develop tech solutions to develop a scalable and efficient supplier management mechanism
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve tools and productivity for vendors and sourcing teams.
  • Write professional business documents for business updates and driving strategic initiatives for stakeholders alignment.

About the team

Amazon Private Brand Global Sourcing team partners with suppliers capable of producing and shipping high-quality consumable products globally, with a focus on driving profitable and sustainable business growth.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of supply chain management, planning, strategic sourcing, commodity management or program management experience
  • Experience in product, program, or project management leading cross-functional teams in delivery of major new products or services
  • Experience working in business procurement organizations of a consumer market segment company
  • Knowledge of SQL/Python/R, scripting, MS Excel, table joins, and aggregate analytical functions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SQL and VBA at an advanced level
  • Experience building and analyzing cost/benefit scenarios and business cases and communicating results throughout the organization
  • Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
