The Opportunity We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Traverse City that are seeking skilled Manufacturing Engineers. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement. Design and improve tooling, fixtures, and equipment to enhance production capabilities and product quality. Provide engineering support for new product introduction (NPI), ensuring manufacturability and smooth transition to production. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues, quality defects, and equipment failures. Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures. Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies, equipment, and materials to improve productivity and product performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and production to resolve technical challenges and achieve operational goals. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement tools. Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for fixture design, tooling, and process layout. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, automation, or welding. Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions for production issues.
