Brentwood, TN (Hybrid – 3 days in a week onsite)

Base Pay Range:

$60.00/hr - $75.00/hr

Day to Day:

The IT Architect – End User Computing (EUC) is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the enterprise end user computing architecture to support business objectives and workforce productivity. This role provides architectural leadership across devices, identity, access, collaboration platforms, endpoint management, and end user security. The architect develops and maintains the EUC strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and business priorities. The role requires deep technical expertise, strong architectural discipline, and the ability to collaborate effectively across infrastructure, security, application, and business teams.

Architecture and Strategy:

Define and own the end-to-end architecture for End User Computing, including endpoint devices, operating systems, identity, access, collaboration platforms, and endpoint security.

Develop, maintain, and communicate the EUC technology roadmap in alignment with enterprise architecture principles and business strategy.

Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and supportable technical designs.

Evaluate emerging EUC technologies and vendors and provide clear recommendations based on business value, risk, and operational impact.

Governance and Standards:

Establish and enforce EUC architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.

Govern the introduction of new EUC technologies to ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, and regulatory requirements.

Develop and maintain architectural artifacts, standards documentation, and decision records within the enterprise architecture repository.

Delivery Oversight:

Provide architectural oversight for EUC initiatives and projects from design through implementation.

Review solution designs to ensure availability, performance, scalability, security, and recoverability requirements are met.

Partner with engineering and operations teams to ensure solutions are implemented in accordance with approved architecture.

End User Computing Domains:

Unified Endpoint Management (UEM/MDM) platforms such as Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, SCCM, JAMF, or equivalent.

Identity and access management including Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, and Multi-Factor Authentication.

Collaboration and productivity platforms including Microsoft 365 services.

Messaging, collaboration, and content services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams administration.

Information protection, data governance, and compliance capabilities using Microsoft Purview.

Virtual desktop and application delivery platforms where applicable.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with Information Security, Infrastructure, Networking, and Application teams to ensure EUC solutions integrate effectively with the broader enterprise environment.

Serve as a technical advisor to business stakeholders, clearly communicating architectural decisions and tradeoffs.

Leadership and Mentorship:

Provide technical leadership and mentoring to EUC engineers and administrators.

Contribute to the maturity and consistency of enterprise architecture practices.

Technical Skills:

Unified Endpoint Management and Mobile Device Management platforms.

Endpoint operating systems: Windows, macOS, iOS, Android.

Microsoft 365 architecture and administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft Purview for information protection, data loss prevention, eDiscovery, and compliance.

Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, and Multi-Factor Authentication.

Active Directory, Group Policy, and endpoint security baselines aligned to industry standards (NIST, CIS, PCI).

Application packaging and deployment technologies.

Virtual desktop and virtual application delivery platforms.

Must Haves:

12+ years of Information Technology experience. 2+ years of experience in architecture for larger organizations.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field.

Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Superior knowledge of multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments.

Advanced level knowledge of technology architecture domains: application, collaboration, data integration, networks, platform, security and systems management, site reliability engineering.

Advanced collaboration skills with the ability to handle conflict and to work with a distributed team.

Pluses:

Retail industry experience preferred.
