POSITION SUMMARY
Development Directors (DD) partner closely with Executive Directors (ED) and community volunteer leaders to execute an annual plan addressing the needs of the arthritis community in assigned market(s), including revenue generation, special event fundraising, and mission outreach. DD recruit, develop, and manage event committees and volunteer leaders to achieve fundraising goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Support ED and volunteer leaders, ensuring sound plans for revenue generation, special event fundraising, mission outreach, and awareness.
Generate revenue through 2-3 assigned special events (e.g., Walk to Cure Arthritis, Jingle Bell Run, Gala) and other initiatives; achieve annual plan goals by planning, executing events, soliciting sponsors, securing honorees, and coaching teams.
Recruit volunteer leaders for local committee roles and grow a diverse and engaged volunteer pipeline.
Steward corporate partners, event participants, healthcare providers, and other key constituents within the market.
Build a culture of philanthropy by developing dynamic volunteer committees; contribute to a high-performing market.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum of 3 years of non-profit, fundraising, or related experience.
Track record of volunteer stewardship, formulation of high-impact partnerships, and consistency in exceeding goals.
Proficiency in sales and relationship building techniques for non-profit setting.
Ability to translate Arthritis Foundation’s mission into relationships and projects.
Experience managing portfolio of revenue generation activities including special event fundraising, major gift solicitation, corporate and foundation support.
