Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced dental clinic. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, medical imaging, and general dentistry practices. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining the clinic's compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Take and process medical imaging, including X-rays, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Record patient vital signs accurately and maintain detailed patient records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Utilize Eaglesoft software for managing patient information, appointments, and billing processes.
- Operate and maintain dental equipment, including 3D scanners, ensuring all tools are sanitized and ready for use.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow within the clinic.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the treatment area and sterilization room.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and best practices is essential.
- Experience with medical imaging techniques is an advantage.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is critical.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately is beneficial.
