SVP, Marketplace Software Implementation
Pennymac, Westlake Village, California, United States, 91361
PENNYMAC
Pennymac is (NYSE: PFSI) a specialty financial services firm with a comprehensive mortgage platform and integrated business focused on the production and servicing of U.S. mortgage loans and the management of investments related to the U.S. mortgage market.
At Pennymac, our people are the foundation of our success and at the heart of our dynamic work culture. Together, we work towards a unified goal of helping millions of Americans achieve aspirations of homeownership through the complete mortgage journey.
A Typical Day You lead flagship enterprise software implementations while building the standard that scales delivery. You meet with executive stakeholders, turn ambiguous goals into a clear plan, then drive requirements and execution holistically: solution design, configuration, integration, data migration, testing, cutover, and hypercare. You write, run, and fix—not just supervise—so the country’s largest mortgage servicers can enjoy the benefits of the world’s most advanced and proven mortgage servicing platform.
SVP, Software Implementation will:
Own end‑to‑end enterprise implementations. Run discovery through hypercare with disciplined scope, clear milestones, and exit criteria
Act as a player‑coach on priority accounts. Personally lead critical workstreams while mentoring resources and setting the bar for execution
Build the playbook. Formalize stage gates, templates, runbooks, and change‑control practices that make delivery repeatable
Install rigorous program governance. Stand up steering cadence, decision logs, status reporting, and transparent go/no‑go reviews. Build the assets and rituals that make stellar execution automatic
Translate requirements into testable designs. Produce solution designs, acceptance criteria, and release plans in tight partnership with Product and Engineering
Lead integrations and data migration at scale. Partner with technical leads to define architectures, mappings, validation, cutover, and reconciliation while meeting security, compliance, and performance needs
Manage schedule, budget, and quality. Control the critical path, protect margins via SOWs and change orders, and hold SLAs on defect leakage and stability
Communicate with and influence executives. Surface trade‑offs early, present options and implications, and secure timely decisions inside Plaisse and with clients
Manage partners to accountable execution. Hold client working teams accountable to deliverables and deadlines with rigor and discipline–all the while recognizing that this accountability needs to be delivered in a way that preserves and strengthens the client relationship
Instrument and improve delivery. Track cycle time, time‑to‑value, CSAT, and incident rates; run retrospectives and ship the fixes
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. MBA or relevant advanced study is a plus but not required
8+ years in enterprise software delivery. At least 5+ years leading implementations of complex systems of record (ERP, CRM, billing, core platforms)
Financial services fluency is a plus. Experience in fintech, payments, lending, or mortgage servicing strengthens your fit
Proven player‑coach track record. You personally led multiple large implementations while orchestrating cross‑functional teams
Deep integration and data expertise. Comfortable with REST/webhooks/SFTP/event streams, SSO (SAML/OIDC/OAuth), data mapping, validation, and cutover
Strong program leadership and stakeholder management. Skilled with exec steering, scope negotiation, risk control, and decisive escalation
Tool proficiency that speeds execution. Jira/Confluence, basic SQL, and other tools of the trade
Clear, concise communication. You write tight status updates, keep impeccable decision logs, and run efficient meetings. You bring ALL constituents along with the appropriate level of depth and with rigorous discipline
Travel readiness for key milestones. You join on‑sites when governance, testing, or cutover outcomes require it
