Clinical Nurse I – Perioperative Shape the Future of Surgical Care with Compassion and Expertise. Join our dynamic Perioperative team as a Clinical Nurse, where your skills and dedication will ensure safe, seamless, and exceptional care before, during, and after surgery.
What You’ll Do
Perform comprehensive physical assessments to guide individualized care plans
Deliver expert nursing interventions that promote optimal outcomes
Manage pain and comfort with precision and empathy
Administer medications safely and effectively
Collect and handle specimens with accuracy
Support nutritional needs and overall well‑being
Provide education and discharge planning to empower patients and families

Schedule
Full Time, Part Time, and Per Diem
8 hour, 10 hour, and 12 hour shifts are available, subject to specific departments
Shift
1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift positions are available as needed.
Qualifications Clinical Nurse I’s at Magnet designated facilities only require a BSN or that a BSN program is started within one year of hire date and BSN degree is attained within two years of the starting the BSN program. BSN preferred.
Education and Experience Hoag Orthopedic Institute (HOI) Pre‑Op, OR and PACU: BSN preferred. Experience in orthopedics preferred. Successful completion of ECG Test required for Preop and PACU only. For PACU, one year recent PACU experience in an acute care hospital or critical care unit preferred.
Operating Room (OR) One year recent OR experience in an acute care hospital or recent completion of the Hoag Perioperative Training Program required.
License Required Registered Nurse in the State of California - Current and in good standing.
Certifications Required
Current BLS certification prior to clinical rotation.
Hoag Orthopedic Institute (HOI) Pre‑op (Perioperative) and PACU: ACLS.
HOI Surgery Center (OSCOC): ACLS and PALS
Certifications Preferred
Hoag Orthopedic Institute (HOI) Pre‑op and PACU: CNOR or CPAN.
Operating Room (OR): CNOR.
