Overview The Firm, a Long Island–based boutique litigation firm, is seeking a motivated and experienced No‑Fault/PIP Litigation Attorney to join its Melville office. The ideal candidate has prior experience in No‑Fault litigation, including provider disputes, SIU investigations, and insurance defense matters. Candidates should be highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Position Summary The attorney will handle cases from intake through trial and arbitration, providing substantive legal support, strategic guidance, and courtroom representation. Candidates must have prior No‑Fault / PIP litigation experience and be able to contribute immediately, requiring minimal training beyond the firm’s internal systems.
Responsibilities
Manage litigation files from inception through trial and arbitration, including strategy development and case evaluation.
Draft motions, pleadings, declaratory judgment actions, memoranda, and reports.
Conduct Depositions and Examinations Under Oath (EUOs).
Provide legal analysis and advice to support coverage opinions and claim evaluations.
Represent clients in court and arbitration, including oral arguments and remote proceedings.
Supervise and mentor paralegals and junior staff, ensuring timely and accurate case management.
Review and analyze medical records, provider claims, and billing disputes; advise attorneys on PIP coverage, coding issues, and fee schedule disputes.
Identify trends and emerging issues in No‑Fault law to inform litigation strategy.
Qualifications
3+ years of No‑Fault / PIP litigation experiencerequired; prior experience in insurance defense or provider disputes preferred.
Licensed to practice in New York; strong knowledge of CPLR, NYSCEF, and arbitration procedures.
Proven experience conducting EUOs, preparing coverage opinions, and arguing motions in court.
Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; capable of supervising support staff effectively.
Strong communication skills and professional demeanor for client and provider interactions.
