This is an onsite position. This role will not be remote. POSITION PURPOSE The Director of Information Technology provides strategic direction and leadership for the support, implementation, and delivery of enterprise infrastructure, cloud operations, and technical support processes. This role will lead and develop the managers of Infrastructure IT staff, Connected Vehicle Technicians, and IT Support staff. The Director will ensure operational uptime in compliance with SLAs and drive strategic projects to enhance operations and efficiency. Responsibilities include managing IT contracts and maintenance agreements, interfacing with senior management, and overseeing peers, staff, and vendors to achieve organizational goals and advance the technology roadmap.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Oversee all projects within the IndyGo IT Project Roadmap, with the ability to lead and manage multiple small to medium projects. Ensure adherence to required documentation, status updates, scope, requirements definition, schedules, resources, and budgets efficiently and effectively. Conduct short and long-term strategic planning to establish and control the organization’s system requirements, including those for information workflow, hardware, software, files, reports, policies, and documentation. Administer and maintain Active Directory / Microsoft Azure AD, Storage Area Networks, Microsoft 365 (Dynamics 365 F&O with Dynaway EAM, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure Compute, Office 365), DNS, virtual servers (VMware), backup systems, networking (firewall, switches, cabling, Internet/P2P circuits) and application support (ADP, transportation scheduling, CAD/AVL). Engage with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others to accept requests, solicit cooperation, and resolve problems. Establish the organization’s technology vision and lead all aspects of the company’s technology development, ensuring compliance with IndyGo standards. Manage the equipment needs and requirements for the business continuity and disaster recovery plan. Utilize various network management applications and industry-standard diagnostic tools and technologies to monitor LAN/WAN activity (firewall, switches, VoIP, cabling, cellular, wireless access points, Internet/P2P circuits), cybersecurity, and maintain optimal performance.
OTHER FUNCTIONS Assist senior IT leadership with developing and managing the IT operations budget, including strategic forecasting and monthly updates. Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervise one or more employees. Apply supervisory responsibilities according to organizational policies and applicable laws. Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, schedules, assigns, and directs work; evaluates and manages employee performance; addresses complaints and resolves employee issues.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited college or university is required. An equivalent combination of training and work experience of eight (8) years may be considered. Over ten (10) years of enterprise IT support, with at least 5 years of progressive management experience and increasing levels of responsibility, is preferred. More than ten (10) years of professional experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft Windows Servers, including both Microsoft and third-party applications, is preferred. At least three (3) years of experience in administering Microsoft O365 or Microsoft Azure is preferred. Microsoft certifications such as MCSA, MCITP, and MCSE are preferred. VMware certifications, including VCA and VCP, are also preferred. Experience with Microsoft 365 is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft products, including Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and Project. Demonstrated understanding and experience with PMBOK project management practices, encompassing cost management, benefits analysis, risk management, timeline estimation, resource management, and change control. Demonstrated understanding and experience with governance methodologies, tools, and approaches for successful project implementations, including Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies and project management principles. Ability to analyze project issues, produce solutions, and resolve problems effectively. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships across various business groups. Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Capability to lead and manage multiple small to medium projects effectively. Ability to operate laptops, tablets, two-way communication devices, and office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, and phones, including basic troubleshooting techniques. Solid presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively to groups. Ability to interact with others in person, via phone, email, and written correspondence. Ability to make appropriate decisions following standard office policies and procedures and problem-solving abilities, particularly in time-sensitive environments. Ability to process and analyze data efficiently. Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage tasks and time effectively. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those an individual must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Position requires an individual remain stationary for extended periods without being able to leave the work area. May have to move or position themselves to use office equipment. May have to move occasionally between departments and/or facilities. Requires some exposure to
machinery/equipment,
excessive noise, extreme temperatures, fumes/odors, some hazardous materials, and dirt/dust. Ability to occasionally move or transport objects weighing up to 20 lbs. including IT Cabling and equipment (monitors, laptops, keyboards).
