Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) will join the longest-standing hospital-based midwifery practice in San Francisco, attending births in a state‑of‑the‑art Family Birth Center. The clinical setting offers expanded options to patients, including nitrous oxide, and ongoing support of physiologic birth, demonstrated by collaboration with community doula programs and one of the lowest cesarean‑section rates in California. ZSFG nurse‑midwives are members of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team with a shared commitment to respectful, culturally appropriate care to all patients and families.
Compensation and Schedule
Salary: $193,804 - $308,074 annually ($93.18 - $148.11 hourly)

Role Description
Antepartum care (both 1:1 and Centering Pregnancy) in collaboration with Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program team members and social service agencies.
Intrapartum care and Birth Center triage.
Postpartum care (inpatient and outpatient).
Family planning.
Furnishing of medication.
Clinical education of nurse‑midwifery students, medical students, and residents.
Documentation of care via electronic medical record.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Valid Certified Nurse Midwife Certificate issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (current).
Current Nurse Midwife Furnishing Number issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (current).
National Board Certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board (active).
Desirable Qualifications
At least 2 years of intrapartum Certified Nurse Midwife experience (with no more than one year elapsed since last intrapartum CNM experience).
Fluency in Spanish.
