Urologist – Battle Creek
Location BBC Bronson Battle Creek, Battle Creek, MI
Job Summary Bronson Healthcare Group is seeking a BE/BC Urologist to join an established medical group serving Battle Creek, MI and the surrounding area. The successful candidate will replace a full‑time hospital–employed position who is retiring. The practice includes an established referral network, hospitalist support for inpatient care and 1:4 call, and is supported by two APPs.
Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary, signing bonus, productivity bonus, relocation allowance, malpractice coverage, annual CME stipend, generous PTO. The hospital is a 218‑bed, all‑private‑room community hospital serving over 200,000 people in south central Michigan and is rated as one of the safest hospitals in the state.
Responsibilities
Provides medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating clinical patients to meet their medical needs
Educates patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources
Determines which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs
Determines level of urgency of follow‑up, referral, or consultation appointments
Exercises final medical judgment in all health‑care issues
Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients
Orders studies, tests, and ancillary services
Documents all services in patient medical record
Reviews long‑term cases that require ongoing medical attention on a regular basis
Consults with the Medical Director and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues
Participates in process improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient‑care programs established by the hospital or clinic
Oversees mid‑level medical staff as assigned as well as nursing clinical staff
Assists in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients
Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations
Demonstrates commitment to providing outstanding customer service in a manner reflective of the hospital’s mission, values, and service standards
Qualifications
Medical degree (MD/DO) and 2 years of direct or internship experience required
Current Medical License in the state of Michigan
Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration
Must maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges
Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques
Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment
Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette
Performs in a tactful and professional manner
Ability to work with high mental/visual fatigue and sustained attention to personal computer usage
Capable of considerable standing or walking, regular lifting of light‑weight objects (≤20 lb), and occasional heavier patient‑lifting assistance
Shift & Schedule First Shift, Full‑time, 40 hours per week.
