Psychiatry Opportunity at Dynamic Private Practice in Corpus Christi

South Texas Mental Health Associates in Corpus Christi, Texas, seeks to add a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to our growing mental health team.
We provide comprehensive patient-oriented care to address mental health issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, ADHD, schizophrenia, and more.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong psychopharmacology and behavioral health background, with experience in outpatient settings. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care to patients, including those with developmental disabilities and addiction issues. The Psychiatrist will conduct diagnostic evaluations, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities This position will be 50% inpatient work and 50% outpatient work with one required weekend per month and two holidays per year.
Inpatient responsibilities include:
Managing a team of two nurse practitioners
Completing psychiatric evaluations and discharges during the week (4 per day, on average)
Attending treatment team meetings
Call is 4 weekdays per month (one per week) and 1 weekend per month
Outpatient responsibilities include:
Half-day of clinic in the afternoon
Psychiatric evaluations for medication management
Follow-up medication management appointments
Appointment times are flexible and based on provider preference
Additional opportunities available
TMS mapping (training provided)
Overseeing ketamine program (training provided)
Additional weekend coverage for increased pay
Qualifications
Medical degree (MD or DO) with a specialization in Psychiatry.
Board Certified or Board Eligible with a plan to take Boards within 3 years.
Experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is a plus.
Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and practices.
Familiarity with outpatient psychiatric care settings.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations.
