About the Facility: This position carries privileges at Valley Baptist Medical Center - Harlingen, a 586-bed Level II Trauma Center and regional leader in comprehensive care, with the potential for privileges at our sister facility in Brownsville. Serving South Texas for nearly 100 years, Valley Baptist offers cutting‑edge neurosurgical technology, robust trauma and stroke programs, and a strong interdisciplinary team that includes neurointerventional and critical care support.

Candidate Requirements:
M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school
Successful completion of an ACGME‑accredited Neurosurgery Residency
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
Texas medical license (or eligibility to obtain one)
Practice Scope:
Schedule: Approximately two clinic days per week (15-20 patients per day)
OR Time: Surgery days as needed; block times available
Call: 10 days per month of paid primary call plus 10 backup call days (backup rarely called in)
Compensation: Paid call at $2,800 per day in addition to base salary and production bonuses
Support Staff: Dedicated Certified First Assists in the OR
Visa Sponsorship: Available for J1 and H1b non‑cap exempt candidates
Practice Location: Clinic located in the professional building attached to the hospital
