RN Perianesthesia at CommonSpirit Health
Job Summary In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Dignity Health, the Perianesthesia Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for surgical and procedural patients.
The PACU is a 24‑hour, 7‑day a week department with some hours covered by employees on Standby (Call). In addition to regular work hours, this position will be required to take call as needed to provide care for the patients. The Ambulatory Care Unit is only open Monday through Friday and the last Saturday of each month for elective procedures. Peri‑Anesthesia Registered Nurses work in both units as needed.
Responsibilities
Assume responsibility and accountability for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for surgical and procedural patients.
Work in the PACU, a 24‑hour, 7‑day department with times on Standby (Call).
Take call as needed to provide care for the patients.
Work in the Ambulatory Care Unit, open Monday‑Friday and last Saturday of each month for elective procedures.
Work in both units as needed.

Qualifications
External Candidates: Minimum of one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital post‑anesthesia care department within the last 5 years.
Internal Candidates: Minimum of 2 years in critical care, emergency department, ICU, or cardiac surveillance unit experiences.
American Society of Perianesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) Certification Preferred.
A registered nurse with documented successful completion of the "Competency Based Orientation and Credentialing Program for the Registered Nurse in the Perianesthesia Setting" from ASPAN.
BSN preferred.
California licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Certification in AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT‑BLS).
Certification in AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT‑ACLS).
Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (CT‑PALS).
