A well-established healthcare system in Colorado Springs is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to support their Gynecologic Oncologist. This locum tenens opportunity requires a highly skilled APP to provide clinical and surgical assistance, inpatient rounding, and 24-hour call coverage.

Schedule & Coverage:
  • 7:00 AM 5:00 PM clinical coverage with 1-hour unpaid lunch

  • Night call from 5:00 PM 7:00 AM (includes 2.5 hours gratis)

  • Approximately 10 shifts per month on site

  • Night call coverage includes hospital and emergency department consults

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Gynecologic Oncologist in surgeries including laparoscopic hysterectomy, BSO, mass resections, lymph node dissections, and exploratory laparotomies

  • Perform pelvic exams, Pap smears, and simple biopsies

  • Round on gynecologic oncology patients inpatient

  • Consult in the emergency department and triage problem visits

  • Manage patient calls, problem visits, and the EMR in-basket

Required Qualifications:
  • Certified NP or PA with board certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCC for NPs)

  • Active Colorado medical license highly preferred

  • Current BLS (AHA) and DEA license (DEA must be maintained for duration of assignment)

  • Experience in gynecology with oncology and surgical first-assist experience within the last 24 months highly preferred

  • Proficient in Epic EMR; must complete required training modules and virtual sessions prior to start

  • Willingness to work all aspects of the job including rounding, call, triage, and clinic

  • Clean malpractice and background check required

  • Local or drive-in candidates preferred due to travel policy

Additional Information:
  • Must agree to the EMR training requirements and provide detailed Epic experience at submission

  • Credentialing timeline approximately 30 days, with emergency temporary privileges available

  • APPs will collaborate closely with RNs and LPNs/LVNs in the inpatient and clinic setting

  • Patient population primarily adults and geriatrics
