The Neonatology Nurse Practitioner (NNP) provides advanced care to critically ill and premature newborns in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). Working collaboratively with neonatologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the NNP performs assessments, develops treatment plans, manages acute and chronic conditions, and supports families through the continuum of neonatal care. Responsibilities include performing procedures, prescribing medications, and ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care for newborns from birth through discharge.
