- Schedule: Monday-Wednesday-Friday, 6:30 am-3:00 pm; Tuesday-Thursday 7:00 am-3:30 pm
- will stay later if help is needed in non-cardiac cases or the cardiac case is not finished
- Specific Dates: July 28 to Aug 1, Aug 11 to Aug 15, Aug 18 to Aug 22, Sept 1 to Sept 5, October 13 week, October 20 week, November 24 week, Dec 22 to Jan 2
Clinical Details
- Practice Setting: Hospital-based with occasional oversight of CRNAs at an ASC if no cardiac cases are scheduled
- EMR: Cerner transitioning to EPIC, some paper documentation
- Support Staff: Predominantly solo cases with CRNA students rotating through, so will need to be okay with students in the operating room
- Partners oversee any supervision/direction
- Average Surgical Cases: Cardiac surgeries 1/day, but not every day; 5-7 general cases/day
- Must help cover general if no cardiac cases
- Number of Anesthesiologists: 6
- Patient Demographics: Adolescent, Child, Adult, Geriatric
- Very sick children are referred to other hospitals
- Operating Rooms: 8 in use simultaneously
- Annual Cardiac Cases: Projecting 90 open heart cases this year
- Growing hospital cardiac surgery program
- Trauma Level II
Requirements
- Board Certified in Cardiac Anesthesiology - Preferred
- will also consider Board Eligible
- Active Iowa license or IMLC LOQ
- TEE Certified (must be able to read, interpret, and bill TEE procedures - NOT just the placement of the probe)
- Cardiac Fellowship (preferred) or extensive experience with TEE certification
- BLS, ACLS, PALS
- COVID Vaccinated
