Facility:
This facility is a Level 2 trauma center with comprehensive diagnostic and treatment capabilities. The facility features onsite laboratory and X-ray services, and utilizes Cerner as its electronic medical record system. The gastroenterology department provides critical care across two campuses with state-of-the-art equipment for advanced GI procedures.
Opportunity: Board Certified - Gastroenterologist
This locum tenens position offers a 7-on/7-off schedule providing 24-hour hospital-based coverage. The opportunity is ideal for experienced gastroenterologists seeking a balanced lifestyle with equal work and off time while practicing in a supportive hospital environment.
Job Details:
- 7-on/7-off rotation across two campuses starting February 1, 2026
- Coverage includes daytime consults and overnight call from 5 PM to 7 AM
- Average of 15-20 clinic patients and 5 hospital-based patients daily
- Proficiency required in advanced GI procedures including ERCP and EUS
- Required procedures include lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, esophageal dilation/manometry, small bowel biopsy, and Sengstaken/Blakemore tube management
- Upper GI endoscopy procedures with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, injection or banding of varices, diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP, and PEG
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Must be comfortable working in a Level 2 trauma center environment
- New Jersey license required (or willingness to obtain)
- Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90-120 days
