Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Leader with laboratory automation/robotics and supervisory experience to join a growing team of scientists at a PSS Client site. The purpose of this role is to supervise 4‑6 scientists and support automated, high‑throughput sample analysis in a fast‑paced GXP environment.

Job Duties

Supervise others in performing client’s service requirements, monitor team performance, proactively plan and multitask to maximize productivity and ensure smooth operation of the department; ensure coverage and performance for all shifts and duties.

Coach, train, and develop others within the group with respect to their personal development and the effective implementation of operational improvements.

Participate in new hire interviews and support the onboarding process of new employees.

Coordinate workflow and perform daily monitoring to meet TAT.

Conduct semiannual performance reviews, interview applicants, keep training records up to date, perform succession planning and address performance issues.

Meet all safety, quality and productivity metrics and promote strong teamwork, positive morale and collaboration while adhering to high quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operations.

Assist with computer system and instrument validation for diverse laboratory equipment such as automated liquid handlers, Luminex and PCR systems.

Develop working knowledge of laboratory equipment, including liquid handlers, plate washers/dispensers, Luminex and PCR instruments.

Utilize technical knowledge to ensure efficient operation of automated processing and information‑technology systems.

Perform routine cleaning, calibrations and verifications of analytic instruments and liquid‑handling platforms, including daily startup and shutdown of instruments.

Troubleshoot errors with quick resolution.

Work independently and as part of a team, with integrity, self‑motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude.

Use and maintain electronic laboratory notebooks to document and report experimental findings, assay protocols, etc.; use laboratory applications (e.g., LIMS, reagent inventory tools, data transfer, ELN) to track samples and related information.

Deliver customer satisfaction by listening to and exceeding customer expectations.

Comply with all laboratory safety requirements.

Qualifications Basic Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as life sciences, engineering, automation, robotics, or a directly‑related field or degree with comparable coursework.

A minimum of 4‑6 years of relevant industry experience.

Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Significant Safety or Working Considerations: may work with potentially infectious samples of human and/or animal origin, may handle hazardous chemicals, ability to lift 50 pounds.

Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

Experience with laboratory liquid handler(s) (e.g., Beckman/Hamilton).

Experience with ligand‑binding and/or PCR‑based assays.

Experience in System Development Life Cycle and instrument validation highly preferred.

Experience with laboratory instruments and robotics, specifically programming, calibration, verification and cleaning of instruments, and daily setup of reagents on instruments highly preferred.

Experience in a GLP or GMP laboratory, preferably in a bioanalytical setting.

Additional Information Position is Full Time, Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of West Point, PA are encouraged to apply.
