Hiring Director of Nursing (DON) – Las Cruces, NM
Position: Director of Nursing (DON)
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (30)
Role Summary The Director of Nursing (DON) provides leadership and oversight of nursing services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and delivering high‑quality resident care. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, management skills, and a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate nursing services in accordance with facility policies
Supervise RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, ensuring performance and compliance standards are met
Develop individualized care plans and monitor resident outcomes
Implement quality improvement initiatives and corrective actions
Ensure adherence to CMS, state, and facility regulations
Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and families to coordinate care
Manage staffing schedules, assignments, and shift coverage
Conduct staff orientation, training, and continuing education programs
Oversee infection control, medication administration, and documentation practices
Prepare reports and participate in audits and surveys
Added Duties
Lead emergency preparedness and nursing response planning
Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of nursing staff
Facilitate clear communication with residents, families, and staff
Review incident reports and implement corrective measures
Monitor supply inventory and coordinate with procurement
Mentor charge nurses and emerging leaders for succession planning
Participate in budget discussions and resource allocation
Promote a culture of safety, respect, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of nursing leadership experience
Strong knowledge of long‑term care regulations and best practices
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Weekly Pay Package
Weekly Tax Free Stipend: $1,162.00
Weekly Straight Pay (Taxable): $1,840.00
Weekly Gross: $3,002.00
