Deputy Director, Independent Pretrial Services Agency (UC)
Position Summary: The County of Los Angeles Justice, Care and Opportunities Department (JCOD) seeks the Deputy Director to oversee the Independent Pretrial Services Agency, scaling services to connect justice‑involved individuals to community‑based supports earlier and more seamlessly.
Responsibilities
Lead the independent pretrial services agency, directing administrative, operational, and budgetary activities to ensure consistent, high‑quality service and compassionate care.
Build, lead, and evaluate pretrial services programs and teams, focusing on data‑driven program development that serves historically underserved communities.
Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team and multiple stakeholders across a large, complex system to align services and promote Care First vision.
Qualifications
Deep understanding of criminal legal system and pretrial processes in Los Angeles County, with commitment to Care First reform through linkage to supportive, community‑based services.
Prior experience building, leading, and evaluating successful pretrial services programs and relevant portfolios.
Demonstrated experience leveraging data to develop programs serving and uplifting historically underserved communities.
